Shakti Flow Yoga
The Places We Meet
Shakti was born in NYC, which was a perfect launch pad for her dynamic Yoga life. In 1977, Shakti picked up and fell in love with her first Yoga book: Yoga Made Easy by Desmond Dunne. It was in 1981 that she dropped out of college to become a full-time student of Yoga with the Sivananda Organization. It was in the Sivananda Ashrams in Canada and The Bahamas that Shakti completed her initial and advanced Yoga teacher training courses.
"The past forty years have been an absolute blast. Sivananda's teachings have been passed on to thousands through my classes, and it was just the beginning. I'm sure the next forty years of my Yoga life will be an even greater adventure." Shakti says, smiling.
Yoga has taken Shakti to many US Cities covering over three quarters of America. Visiting several Caribbean Islands and many exotic places, Yoga has taken Shakti to London, Maui, Paris, Johannesburg, Barbados, Montreal, Bangkok, Brisbane and more.
Shakti has called SW Florida home base since 1989. It is the place she returns after Yoga adventures take her abroad. She is always welcomed back with loving arms from her family of origin, spiritual family, friends, students, clients and any who have partaken of that Shakti glow.
Shakti is known to give of her heart & soul in service of humanity with the ease of an unconscious breath. Tell me, she says, "Where did you meet Yoga and where has she taken you?"
If, by chance, you haven't met Yoga, meeting Shakti will more than likely provide you with an unexpected and exciting experience of Yoga.

Shakti Flow Massage and Healing
Shakti has shared her loving healing touch as a Licensed Massage Therapist-LMT since 1994. Once again, Yoga was her inspiration, as she would massage students’ backs and shoulders while they held yoga postures. Her students mentioned that not only did it feel wonderful to be massaged deeper into yoga poses, but her hands also seemed to radiate a warm healing sensation that often eliminated pain. This encouraged Shakti to become attuned as a Reiki Healer, and, soon after, she became a LMT.
In the late 90's, when Shakti moved to California, she landed a great job at a celebrity getaway called Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. Some of her massage clients included actors Dennis Hopper, Ted Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen. Shakti spent time in the celebrity vibe of Seal, Oprah, Clint Black, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Anthony Hopkins, Ellen Degeneres, producers, agents, directors and so on. Also, during her California life, Shakti ascended in love with horses and apprenticed as a Equine Massage Therapist.
Shakti's experience of embracing horses, rubbing elbows with the celebrity life, (Shakti smiles and says, "It was more rubbing of their elbows, etc"), her walk with spiritual masters and ashram life has given her a beautiful balance, a unique approach to life. It is evident in everything she shares with others. This balance is soon felt within her clients and students.

A 16-year-old client shares:
Not only is she a great yogi, masseuse, etc, she is an amazing person and she has touched my life! When she did Reiki with me, she read both my chakras and my physical body. She found that my chakras were low and I had a pinched nerve, and it explains my chronic stomach pain.
I come to find out that I have a condition called Median Arcuate Ligament Syndrome or MALS. My diaphragm is compressing my celiac plexus nerves and has caused nerve damage. She has been so helpful, supportive and just radiates love.
