Ashtanga or Raja yoga is the eight limb path of yoga. We've gone through the Yamas(restraints) and Niyamas (observances)and here we are at the Asanas the third limb.
Asana means steady pose. It requires more than merely doing a yoga pose for it to become an Asana.
Focus, concentration, deep breathing and meditation are all integral parts of obtaining a Yoga Asana.
As it is said 'practice makes perfect'.
With that, I invite you to stick around while in your yoga pose, let the mind quiet down as you observe how it feels and by all means make it feel comfortable.
Slight adjustments can make a world of difference.
Then when you've arrived: surrender into the pose, then just focus on your breath and wait...
Waiting not merely for the Asana to show itself to you, but for you to show the Asana `You´.
Stay Tuned-Next blob post will be on Monday November 18th
Happy Nada Day,
I take pause...
I reflect upon my life...
I don't drive...
I sleep in...
I may not talk...
I have no agenda...
I pause and...
I totally invest in my Self care!
I do nada thing...
On Nada day I surprise myself...
I Prize My Self!
It is my intention to encourage you, to inspire you to also take a weekly day away and celebrate doing Nada😁
A few years back I took a vacay to beautiful Barbados, the home of my maternal ancestry and learned to surf the waves, that was a great 'Nada Day'
Happy 11:11 and Full Moon, touch my surf photo to read more about what this 11:11 stuff is all about.
Remember blob posts are
Only on Mondays and Wednesdays now.
Read the November 6th post for the update.
Long before I came on this Earth, "The Blob" came to the big screen in 1958.
There was a remake 30 years later and today...
Another one right here, right now!
The Shakti Flow BloB...
But first a YouTube clip from the original movie.
I love the first words of this clip of the movie...
"Now all the images of horror, the demons of your mind, crowd in on you, to destroy you!"
Shakti Flow BloB
Is here to assist in taming those mental demons.
Yep, I've noticed that I had been slacking with this Blog, and that's not fair to you my attentive audience.
I guess I've been a blog BloB.
With that in mind and because I do appreciate all who stop by,
I've decided to move this to a weekly BloB.
So you can find me here on Wednesdays with words of wisdom, silliness, celebrations, reminders, or whatever.
As a special bonus, on Mondays will be my weekly reminder to Chill and take a Nada Day.
Next Wednesday we will continue with the wisdom series. We are on the 3rd Limb of the 8 Limbs of Ashtanga Yoga.
With excitement, I will share "Asana" which is one of my favorite pastimes and maybe the same for some of you.
Because I so enjoy sharing my blob and also the appreciative feedback I've gotten from you, I will continue blobbing on.
Thank you hanging in there with me, I'v gotten over 600 hits so far 👍.
We are slowly BloBing over the entire planet😁
It's amazing what a lil exploring of and poking at a meteor can do
Yesterday was the celebration of Halloween
Yesterday was also the last day of the celebration of Diwali or Deepavali. Around the globe Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhist honor this celebration of lights and the goddess of prosperity-Lakshmi.
Diwali represents a spiritual victory of darkness over light/knowledge over ignorance and marks a new year in India. Definitely a time to celebrate.
Today is the celebration of All Saint's Day
in the Catholic Tradition
Tomorrow's celebration is in honor of
All Soul's Day,
or popular within the Mexican culture as the
Day of the Dead or
Dia de los Muertos
Lights and more lights in honor, in celebration, in remembrances, in pretend frightening fun.
Celebrating life as light, for isn't that what we are-human lights to brighten voids, grief, dark places, ignorances, lost.
May your light so shine that it brightens our inner and outer worlds.
Munched on these Cherries, Mulberries and some Moringa leaves and seeds. There were Eggplant, Squash, Banana, Oregano, Clover, Passion Fruit, Bamboo, lovely Trees and Flowers and Solar Panel lights and more.
Lots of love goes into keeping this place a feasting meditation for body, mind, emotions and spirit.
Many thanks to the creators of this lovely place.
Arriving at the same time as the rain made it seem like being in an Amazon Rainforest. It was lovely to feel the cooling wetness on my body and was only a short drive and not a plane ride away.
It was great fun sharing the space with a friend who's a regular Food Forester😊
